Who We Are
ESTHER is a people who together Encourage and Strengthen those Hopeless, Entangled and Raged within their communities.
Our focus is to meet people where they are at. Our job is not to change or fix people.
Our mission is to love and provide a space where people are reminded of their own ability, strength, and value as women, mothers, and people within their communities.
What We Do
We provide housing for families at a time in their life they feel the most vulnerable. We offer space to single mothers and children and women throughout pregnancy and after birth until they are able to obtain long-term housing. Families have their own room in one of our houses where they have a safe and stable place to live; without needing to worry about how they will pay rent or where they will sleep, families can focus on achieving other goals for their health and well-being.
We offer a family support structure that allows the mamas to focus on themselves, their dreams, set goals and achieve them. House mothers live in our homes to provide consistent support, accountability, and encouragement. We meet with each mama weekly to discuss goals, the resources she needs and determine the phases she will walk through to accomplish this for herself and her family. We offer community, people to cheer on the mama, to sit with her in life’s challenges and to celebrate the beauty of her story!
Why We Do It
Because God first loved us! Jesus, the one who chose not to give up on us, came to us. He meets us where we are at and He strengthens us where we are. He gives us hope in all circumstances. We want to display this love, His love to each mama that comes into the home. A love that will stand with them, a love that says you have a choice and a voice in this journey, a love that meets them in the mess of life and says you are capable, valuable and you are worth it!
This we know, if we are passionate about babies, then we are passionate about mamas and that goes both ways. We recognized the need, so then the question became how do we respond to the need? What will be our daily response?
We care about women becoming mothers. Our response to the need was housing, a safe place! Pregnancy is unlike any other time of life, full of transition and is extremely vulnerable, especially for women in crisis. We believe that this is a critical time in a women’s life to come in and find hope. To come in and remind each woman her identity. To be a place of support along the journey while she makes some of the most courageous decisions of her life. We want to ignite hope and love into these mamas so that it would also be birthed into their children.
